A Seat at the Table - Solange

A Seat at the Table brings a new wave funk and R&B appeal that does NOT sound like Beyonce, rather an alienesque Prince infused dreamscape. With songs like "Mad" and "Don't Touch My Hair" Solange taps into America's racial tensions. I dig the political soundness of the album. The lyrics are simple, yet deep, displaying articulation toward the tension. I personally hope that this album puts Solange on the map, as opposed to Bey's baby sister.
